Processing mail to Ireland - TARIC code issues and 'getting customs forms right'

Dec 1, 2021 |

Ireland’s postal service provider An Post has made it a requirement that all imported goods should have a HS Tariff code included, despite it not being a Universal Postal Union requirement. This has resulted in some disruption to service, resulting in delays.

So that customers can continue to send mail to Ireland, Royal Mail (RM) has started allocating the HS Tariff code for goods sent to Ireland from post office branches.

To do this, RM require a clear description of goods from the customs form, so it is important that these are always completed clearly and legibly.
