NFSP Statement: Sir Wyn Williams’ Horizon Inquiry Volume One report

Jul 8, 2025 |

The NFSP welcomes Sir Wyn Williams’ volume one report issued today. The NFSP is committed to helping any and all members, past and present, get the redress they deserve for what Sir Wyn today describes as the “wholly unacceptable behaviour” of Post Office Ltd in not only unjustified prosecutions but in taking millions of pounds from thousands of postmasters across the UK over many years.

The NFSP will continue to assist all its members in any way we can through information, guidance and signposting to the relevant expertise. We continue to reach out to those affected and offer our assurance of help.

One aspect that requires highlighting from today’s announcement is that the Historical Shortfall Scheme (HSS) will close to new applicants on 27 November this year. On this basis, we appeal to any former postmaster colleague who has not applied to the HSS to do so without delay by clicking here.
