The Low Pay Commission (LPC) has released its annual report for 2024, detailing the evidence and research that informed their recommendations for the National Minimum Wage (NMW) and National Living Wage rates set for April 2025. The report also includes a summary of research projects commissioned over the past year. Additionally, a comprehensive directory of all LPC's published research from 2004 onwards is available.

The NFSP fed into the research to ensure the commission knew about the impact a NMW raise would have on some smaller post offices. 56% of postmasters did not agree with an increase, 38% stated they had to let a staff member go due to the increase, and 65% disagreed with an increase in April 2025 (April 24). The NFSP continues to highlight that self-employed postmasters sit outside the NMW and that NFSP research from 2021 showed that more than 70% of Postmasters paid themselves less than the NMW.
